FIND RELIEF FROM YOUR ANXIETY AND TRAUMA WITH EMDR
At Revibe Therapy, we understand that mental illness can be debilitating. If you’re suffering from anxiety, trauma, depression, or other illnesses, hypnotherapy can help. Hypnotherapy for anxiety is an effective way to access the subconscious part of your mind in order to mitigate your symptoms.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is another treatment offered at Revibe Therapy that has shown proven success. EMDR is the ideal treatment for those patients who suffer from sexual trauma and borderline personality disorders. According to Dr. Axe, EMDR therapy can also help aid patients experiencing PTSD, addictions, phobia, grief, and more. Using guided imagery, EMDR can help patients find their “safe place” when recovering from various types of trauma.

EMDR THERAPY
The goal of EMDR therapy is to help patients suffering from trauma to find relief by creating positive visions that influence their thoughts. In 60-minute sessions, our team at Revibe Therapy works to help you overcome your anxiety or trauma to help you get back to living a healthy and fulfilling life. As stated by Dr. Axe, patients will simultaneously allow negative thoughts or images to come and go while also moving their eyes back and forth. During an EMDR session, the patient’s eyes typically follow the doctor’s fingers or something in the doctor’s hands, such as a wand. Similar to meditation, the patient should let their mind go blank during this time and hopefully replace negative thoughts and memories with more hopeful ones, using guided imagery.
Dr. Axe explains that EMDR therapy is completed in phases, generally over about six to eight sessions. The specific steps that are usually followed include:
- History taking: The therapist will ask a variety of questions in order to get a better idea of the patient’s history, as well as which problems need to be targeted.
- Preparation: Gives the patient a better understanding of what will occur during these sessions.
- Assessment: The therapist will assess which of the patient’s memories need to be targeted during each session.
- Desensitization: The therapist will begin incorporating eye movements that will allow insights, emotions, sensations, and other memories to spontaneously emerge within the patient’s mind.
- Instillation: The patient’s negative thoughts, memories, experiences, etc. will begin to be replaced by positive thoughts due to increased connections to positive networks.
Dr. Axe states that there are many potential benefits of EMDR therapy — including treatment for anxiety, PTSD, sexual trauma, eating disorders, panic attacks, and more. If you feel as though you may be suffering, take our anxiety and depression self-assessments. Contact Revibe Therapy to set up a hypnotherapy or EMDR session today.

EMDR THERAPY AND PTSD
EMDR Therapy is an effective mode of therapy that can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions. One of the most common uses for EMDR is in patients who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. This is because EMDR has time and time again shown that it is a successful tool for helping people through their trauma.
WHAT IS PTSD?
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a disorder that develops in those who have experienced trauma of some degree and are having difficulties moving past the event. Many times, people mistakenly believe that only veterans and soldiers experience PTSD. While PTSD is common in those in the armed forces due to the nature of their occupation, PTSD can occur in anyone who has experienced trauma. Different events can be perceived differently by different people. Something that is traumatizing for one person may not be as impactful for another. Events that can lead to PTSD include but are not limited to:
